Hi! I'm a San Francisco-based scientist, artist and athlete passionate about uncovering the mysteries of life and making science accessible to all.
I received a BA in Cellular Neuroscience and Mathematical Systems Biology from Colgate University, where I was also a member of the Track and Field team (D1) and competed in the 400 meter hurdles. After graduation I moved to Cambridge, MA and joined AbbVie's Alzheimer's Disease (AD) early discovery R&D effort as a member of the Tau Pathobiology team, where I used microfluidic cell culture models to rapidly recapitulate tau propagation in vitro and identify therapeutic candidates that slow the progression of AD. I returned to academia for a brief time to develop and apply expansion microscopy (ExM) techniques @ MIT in the synthetic neurobiology group, enabling the interrogation of the pathophysiology neurodegenerative diseases with nono-meter precision using conventional confocal microscopes. I relocated to San Francisco, CA at the beginning of 2022. Since then, I have continued to work in the spaces of lab automation, disease modeling, and assay development at AI/ML techbio startups (Insitro, Axiom Bio). I'm tremendously excited by the potential power of AI + synthetic biology to create new forms of life.
Outside of lab, I'm an FII certified freediver, poi spinner and generative artist (conventional physical media, algo-art, Midjourney). I'm fascinated by computational creativity, the play between signal and noise, and systems at chaotic critically.
